Masoud Mozafari, PhD
The MozafariGroup, led by Dr. Masoud Mozafari, is dedicated to advancing biomaterials research with a focus on creating advanced smart biomaterials that support precision medicine. At the MozafariGroup, the team develops biomaterials designed to interact with the body in a controlled, targeted way—responding to specific biological signals for more personalized treatment.
Dr. Mozafari is currently an affiliated visiting professor at the University of Oulu, Finland, and has previously held a fellowship at Mount Sinai Hospital and the University of Toronto, Canada. He has been awarded the Khwarizmi International Award and the Julia Polak European Doctorate Award for his impactful work in biomaterials. Additionally, he received the WIPO Medal for Inventors from the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) – the United Nations (UN).
Dr. Mozafari actively shapes the field through his editorial roles, including on the Advisory Board of ACS Biomaterials Science and Engineering. Under his leadership, the MozafariGroup focuses on transforming scientific discoveries into practical applications, setting new standards in biomaterials that are tailored to respond dynamically to the body’s biological signals. His vision for precision medicine is driving new advancements that hold the potential to reshape modern healthcare.
